Aon's Technology Leadership and Innovation Earns Spot on 2013 InformationWeek 500 List

CHICAGO (September 9, 2013) –  Aon plc (NYSE:AON), the leading global provider of risk management and human resource consulting and outsourcing, announced today that it has been named to the 2013 InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology.

“Providing clients with innovative solutions necessary to manage their risk and people needs is an absolute priority for us and is why we continue to make significant investments in technology,” said Steve Betts, Aon global chief information officer. “Being named to the 2013 InformationWeek 500 List is a validation of our efforts as we build upon our industry-leading data and analytics capability to better serve clients.”

InformationWeek recognized Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health business of Aon, for its investment in the technology platform behind Aon Hewitt Navigators ®, Aon’s comprehensive retiree health care exchange. Through its proprietary technology platform, thousands of retirees can learn about the basics of Medicare, find plans available in their area, and choose a plan that meets their personal health needs and budgets. To date, Aon Hewitt has helped more than 2 million seniors with their health insurance needs. Most recently, of the seniors enrolling in their benefits through Aon Hewitt Navigators, 98 percent indicated they were satisfied with their overall experience.

"As the leading Medicare marketplace, Aon Hewitt meets the retiree health needs of more than 2 million seniors each year," said Matt Heckler, chief information officer of Aon Hewitt. "Technology is at the core of the customer experience, and the Aon Hewitt Navigators platform makes it easy for seniors to understand their options and choose a plan that best meets their health and financial needs.”

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as they spotlight the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders. Aon was named to the Information Week 500 list in 2011 and 2012.
