Aon Impact Forecasting Alert on California Earthquake

CHICAGO, July 29, 2008 - Impact Forecasting, LLC, a unit of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AOC), released the following alert July 29 at 2 p.m. CDT regarding an earthquake today in southern California. A moderate earthquake rattled southern California less than an hour ago, with local residents reporting a rolling motion.

The magnitude 5.8 quake was centered two miles (three kilometers) southwest of Chino Hills, California, or 29 miles (47 kilometers) east-southeast of downtown Los Angeles at 1:42 pm CDT (11:42 am PDT).  The quake occurred 12.3 kilometers below the earth’s surface. No immediate reports of damage have surfaced, but buildings reportedly swayed in downtown Los Angeles. The quake was reportedly felt in San Diego and slightly in Las Vegas.  At least five aftershocks have occurred in the last 15 minutes ranging from magnitude 2.7 to magnitude 3.8.
