Aon and Fortis secure five year Post Office travel insurance deal
Leicester, U.K.
NYSE: AOC

LEICESTER, 27 October 2008 - The Post Office, the second largest provider of travel insurance in the UK, has signed a further five year contract with global insurance broker Aon to continue managing its award winning travel insurance scheme.

The selection of Aon followed a rigorous tender process.  Aon has demonstrated its continuing high service standard achieved over recent years, which secured two travel industry awards in 2006 and 2007 and produces record sales conversion rates.

A team of 120 in Leicester handles and processes travel insurance transactions from Post Office counters, online and through its call centre.

Aon is working in partnership with leading general insurer Fortis, which both underwrites the insurance policies and brings the proven strength of its award winning claims handling expertise, which it has supplied to Post Office and Aon since June 2003.

Andrew Spice, head of financial services at the Post Office, commented: “We are looking forward to working with Aon to build on the success we’ve had in travel insurance over recent years.  The new contract is set to deliver a range of new products and improved service standards that Post Office® customers will benefit from.”

Robin Phillips, managing director for Aon’s Affinity Programmes, added: “This really is a tremendous win for the team, following its commitment to providing a high quality customer experience. At the same time, our conversion rate continues to improve month on month and we have forged strong relationships with the team at the Post Office. The next step is building on these service standards and working with the team to deliver innovative product ideas.”

Barry Smith, chief executive, Fortis said, “Having developed strong and successful partnerships with Post Office and Aon over the past five years, we are delighted to continue as the preferred insurer for Post Office’s travel scheme. Aligned to our customer-centric strategy, we look forward to collaborating with Aon and Post Office to build on the proven strength of our proposition through innovative product development combined with our consistent and award-winning high levels of claims service.”
