2009 Holiday Spirit remains steady and alive in the workplace
TORONTO
NYSE: AON

TORONTO (December 14, 2009) – Aon Consulting, the global human capital consulting organization of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AON), today issued the results of its Rapid Ready Survey on Holiday Bonuses & Parties.

80 per cent of the organizations surveyed are having a holiday party, while 91 per cent confirmed they've had holiday parties in previous years. Combined, the high rates of favorable responses indicate the holiday spirit remains consistently intact despite a recessionary year that persisted from 2008.

However, the economic climate appears to have influenced 11 per cent of respondents, who in previous years have had a holiday party, but do not plan to have one this year.

Nonetheless, in parallel to the overall positive trend of upholding the holiday spirit, the survey also reveals that organizations seem to continue to recognize and reward employees. Of those who confirmed giving out holiday bonuses, the majority of those respondents will be providing cash.

Aon conducted the survey between November 27, 2009 and December 2, 2009 to 391 organizations across Canada.
