Aon to create 80 jobs in Leicester

LEICESTER, 21 January 2009Understanding the film industry inside out, helping UK charities prevent costly liability claims and supporting independent schools tackle stress are some of the new roles on offer from the UK’s largest insurance broker, Aon, which is creating more than 80 jobs in its Leicester office. Aon’s recruitment campaign launches today to attract local talent and follows with an open day on 5 February from 4-8pm at Insurance House, 125-129 Vaughan Way.

 Aon’s affinity team is responsible for identifying the risks facing certain professions and managing suitable insurance programmes to react to the challenges that may threaten the health of their organisation. Alongside Leicester’s existing affinity schemes for the construction industry, commercial property, care homes and working men’s clubs, Aon is looking to recruit for the following teams:

  • entertainment and media
  • charities
  • academia
  • village and parish halls.

 The new roles will range from team leaders and client facing account handlers to personal assistants and administrative support. Aon is ideally looking for people with an insurance background in addition to excellent customer service and communications skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to work well in a team.

Aon currently employees 200 people in its Leicester office, providing risk advice and insurance broking to UK SMEs and mid-large corporates, as well as managing the Post Office’s travel insurance call centre.
