Aon Energy launches larger, stronger UK team
Magne Seljeflot to chair, Monty Lynch appointed head

LONDON, 7 April 2009 – Aon Specialty, a division of Aon Risk Services, the leading global risk and insurance firm, has unveiled the UK arm of its global Aon Energy unit.

The launch of the new management team follows the integration of energy specialists from the former Benfield Corporate Risks into the operations of Aon Specialty.

"We have always had a powerful team of energy insurance professionals around the world, of course, but we are truly integrated for the first time into one team", explained Bruce Jefferis, global CEO of Aon Energy.  “We have added significantly to our staff in London, America, Norway, Canada, and Australia at a time when our energy clients are facing the most complex risk management decisions and they need the best professional advice."

Led by chairman, Magne Seljeflot and head of energy, William "Monty" Lynch, the UK team of Aon Energy comprises over 100 professionals. “Energy is a hugely important industry sector for Aon; in 2008 we placed more than 30% of the global energy premium”, reports Magne.  “With an expanded staff and new management team, our UK energy operations are strongly positioned for growth in a very competitive industry.”

“Companies in the energy sector are facing increased market instability and a dramatic decline in oil and gas prices,” said Monty Lynch. “A great deal more time and effort is required this year to thoroughly counsel all clients about the issues, strategies, and options available in today's energy insurance market.”
