BUCHAREST, Romania, Dec. 14, 2012 -- Aon plc (NYSE:AON) has been named Romanian Corporate Insurance Broker of the Year by Financial Market magazine. The award, which was announced at the December 11 Financial Market Gala Awards in Bucharest, was given to Aon Romania for the firm’s stellar business results in the country over the past year. 

The Financial Market Gala Awards are an annually held event dedicated to recognizing the best in Romania’s financial community.

From bankers to insurance brokers, this year’s gala was attended by representatives from a wide variety of Romanian financial institutions and industries.

The event was organized by Financial Market magazine with support from the National Bank of Romania and official partner, the Romanian Counter-Guarantee Fund.
