London, 11 July, 2013 – Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health solutions business of Aon plc (NYSE: AON), has today published Understanding a Fiduciary Provider's Offering, the latest trustee guidance paper on fiduciary management from Aon Hewitt’s Delegated Consulting Services team.
The paper is part of a series that Aon Hewitt is publishing over the next three months to help arm pension scheme trustees with the knowledge they need when selecting a fiduciary manager.
Understanding a Fiduciary Provider's Offering identifies and explains the five key areas which differ between providers. These include:
• Fiduciary business and conflicts of interest
• The fiduciary solution
• Trustee involvement, client service and reporting
• Fees and performance measurement
• Operations, risk and transition
Sion Cole, partner and head of Client Solutions in Aon Hewitt's Delegated Consulting team, said
“Fiduciary management is arguably the fastest growing area of the UK pensions industry and it is imperative that trustees are well informed when appointing a provider. Our aim with this series of educational papers is to equip trustees with all the information they need to make the right decision for their schemes, when and if the time comes to do so.”
The paper details 20 priority questions for trustees to ask providers about their fiduciary business and areas such as potential conflicts of interest. Subsequent papers will provide guidance which addresses the remaining four core areas of difference between providers.
