Chicago, January 14, 2014 – Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon plc (NYSE: AON), today announces the appointment of Stephen Hofmann as its Chicago Business Leader. 

 In his new role Hofmann’s responsibilities will include driving business growth, managing client teams, and creating and maintaining a business environment that is supportive to optimizing client results.

A graduate of Northwestern University in 1987, Hofmann has worked for Aon since 1997.  Throughout his tenure, he has established new business relationships, led client-focused teams and provided customized solutions responding to clients’ unique business needs and objectives.  He most recently served both as Executive Managing Director within Aon Benfield's treaty team, and as a member of the origination team.  He has over 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry where he has worked in all areas of client account management.
