AON, CNA AND WING PROUD SPONSORS OF 2015 VOICES LIVE CHICAGO CONFERENCE, CELEBRATING WOMEN IN INSURANCE TECHNOLOGY

CHICAGO, Mar. 16, 2015 – Aon plc, CNA and the Women’s Insurance Networking Group (WING) collectively sponsored the 2015 Voices Live Chicago Event supporting the growing role of women in insurance technology. Part of the larger, week-long Voices Global Conference, the Chicago event, which took place on Friday, March 13, 2015, provided a platform for women from around the globe to discuss, collaborate and celebrate the contributions of women in the technology insurance industry.

This event, organized by WING, the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) and Global Tech Women, featured a diverse, multi-generational panel followed by a roundtable discussion of inspirational stories about personal missions to engage women in technology. The discussion was moderated by Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group and co-founder of WING, and David Mendelsohn, partner of DLA Piper and co-founder of WING. Panelists included:

  • Arti Arora, Director, Knowledge Sharing, Aon
  • Marisa Cabrera, IT Rotational Program Associate, CNA
  • Cynthia Clarke, Chief Information Officer, Mesirow Financial
  • Danelle Kent, Consultant, SWC Technology Partners
  • Deanne Hettich, Vice President, Practice Leadership, Aon
  • Jeff Hughes, Vice President, Information Technology, CNA

“We are thrilled to be a part of such an empowering event,” said Nichole Barnes Marshall, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Aon.  “With fewer women joining the tech workforce, it is events like these that inspire women to get involved and find new avenues to engage their professional expertise.”

“Technology professionals are in demand and recruiting women into the insurance industry continues to be of the upmost importance,” said Sarah Pang, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Community InvolvementCNA. “The technology industry is constantly evolving, so bringing in new, diverse talent is a growing focus at CNA.”

“Despite the strides being made within the insurance industry, female technology professionals continue to be outpaced by their male counterparts,” said Margaret Resce Milkint, Managing Partner, The Jacobson Group. “This event allowed women and enlightened males, who are at the forefront of the technology and insurance industry, to come together and discuss the important issue of promoting diversity and inclusion within this space.”
