Aon Special Risks Appoints Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank as a Special Advisor

LONDON, 15th March 2004. Aon Special Risks, the market leading Counter-Terrorism, Political Risks and Kidnap and Ransom insurance broker and risk consultant, today announced that Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank would be joining the company as a non-executive special advisor.

Lord Guthries role at Aon will be to advise the company on the development of new products and new business initiatives in the counter terrorism and political risks markets. He has had an outstanding military career, having been commissioned in the Welsh Guards serving with them and 22 Special Air Service. He commanded 1st British Corps and the British Army of the Rhine. From 1992-1994 he was Chief of General Staff and from 1994 to 2001 Chief of the Defence Staff.

He was created Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank in June 2001, and is now also a non-executive director of N M Rothschild, the investment bank.
