Nurses to Benefit from First Online Risk Management Tool: Aon Affinity’s Nurses Service Organization Educator Toolkit
PHILADELPHIA
NYSE: AOC

PHILADELPHIA – August 17, 2009- Aon Affinity, a subsidiary of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AOC), today announced that its Nurses Service Organization*, in conjunction with the NSO Advisory Board, launched the NSO Educator Toolkit – the first online risk management resource designed for nurse educators to use in the classroom. The modular tool, which can be accessed via http://www.nso.com/toolkit, includes user-friendly PowerPoint presentations and handouts as well as articles, quizzes and links to useful web sites.

By providing nurse educators with around-the-clock access to risk management materials, the NSO Educator Toolkit will directly benefit student curriculum as existing materials will be complemented by accurate and up-to-date risk management information. The toolkit will be delivered in modules, with the first release focusing on documentation. More modules will be added to the toolkit over time to cover topics such as communication and patient safety.

Michael Loughran, executive vice president of Aon Affinity, stated, “By designing this toolkit, NSO looks to provide nurse educators with contemporary information specific to the increasingly complex and relevant area of risk management. While nurse educators will find this information a valuable supplement to their existing clinical curriculum, the release of the NSO Educator Toolkit also helps NSO to fulfill the challenge extended by nursing leaders – to be much more than providers of insurance.”
