Aon Launches Suite of Health Care Brokerage and Consulting Solutions for Local Employers
Firm’s national scale and expertise allows local employers to meet health and benefits needs and reduce costs nearly 11 percent

CHICAGO (June 19, 2019) – Aon plc today launched Aon Local Advantage (ALA), a suite of health and benefit solutions offered locally through dedicated brokers with expertise serving U.S. employers covering 100 to 500 workers and their families.

“Our national and regional carrier relationships will deliver proven performance to keep local employers’ health care costs down and offer the right plans employees will appreciate and value,” said Maria Harshbarger, senior vice president of U.S. Health Solutions. “As a result, employers will have the peace of mind that they are accessing top-notch terms, agreements and pricing with proven insurance carriers in the industry.”

The firm has scaled its extensive data and analytics capabilities to help local employers understand how their current benefits package compare against the marketplace and other employers in their industries. Aon’s proprietary cost savings modeling tool helps employers customize a health and benefits strategy by bringing the right balance between cost management and employee perceptions. Aon’s approach achieves an average of 10.8 percent overall health care savings for their clients and has provided the firm with a 9.2 (out of 10) rating in overall client satisfaction.

ALA also provides employers a branded web-based portal to engage and educate employees with customized content on their benefit programs and allows them to enroll in their benefits. Eliminating manual paperwork and reaching dispersed employee populations, employers may also customize the portal with multimedia assets, ranging from required employment documentation and training videos, to corporate policies, wellness incentive programs, company directory and more.

ALA also helps employers:

  • simplify compliance with federal, state and local laws that affect employee benefits programs,
  • support employee communications about benefit education, changes and open enrollment, and
  • connect with experts across the country on solutions for employee wellbeing, pharmaceutical, voluntary benefits, actuarial and other professional services spanning a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions.

“Aon’s combination of national resources, industry expertise and innovation allow local businesses to hand off cumbersome health and benefits strategy and focus more on running their enterprise,” said Lisa Rafferty, senior vice president and local advantage leader. “We will help local employers stay ahead of the health and benefits curve by simplifying benefits administration, strategy and compliance through a best-in-class combination of technology and consulting expertise.”

ALA is first being launched in eight offices, which include Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami. More offices will be added throughout the year. Across the U.S., Aon boasts 61 offices and 1,500 health and benefits experts, all of which will be leveraged to support local employers.

Aon will host a Chicago event titled “Optimizing Your Employee Benefits” for employers covering 100 to 500 lives from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the Aon Center, 200 E. Randolph St. Click here to register.
