CHICAGO, May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aon Re Global, the world's largest provider of reinsurance brokerage and integrated capital solutions and a unit of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AOC), today announced the appointment of Peter Phillips to managing director of Aon Capital Markets, responsible for variable annuity hedging and consulting and related asset management services.

In this role, Phillips leads an Aon Capital Markets team consulting with direct writers to review and improve their variable annuity product development, pricing, valuation efforts and hedge program performance, and to act on an agency basis to assist in the management of their hedge program activities.

Phillips, 42, has 19 years of capital markets experience, having worked for banks and global insurance companies in Europe and in North America. Since 2001, he has concentrated on starting and managing variable annuity hedging programs, including responsibility for day-to-day management of complex derivative hedging strategies, trade execution, and developing valuation systems, scenario generators, hedge overlay and simulation tools and hedge program performance reporting.

Based in Toronto, Phillips earned a Master's of Business Administration with honors from the University of Chicago and a master's degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics.
