New marine claims directors to boost ECF at Aon
London
NYSE: AOC

LONDON, 28 July 2008 - Aon’s marine team has appointed two new specialist claims directors to raise the profile of effective electronic claims files (ECF) in the sector.

Gordon Brown will manage hull and liability claims in London, whereas Robert Dobson will manage cargo and logistics liability claims in both London & Aon’s UK Regional offices.

The pair previously worked together three decades ago at Royal Sun Alliance and they have now been reunited to bring a combined 60 years of experience in marine claims to Aon.

They will be responsible for managing and servicing the claims from cradle to grave and to further integrate electronic claims files across the industry from the team of 11 across the London and the UK regional offices.

Before Aon, Robert was marine claims director at Craig UK, a firm of outsourcing claims consultants. Prior, he worked for Chubb Insurance Company of Europe for a decade, where he ultimately became their European marine claims manager.

Gordon joined from Hiscox where he worked for 13 years and was marine claims manager. Prior to that, he was marine claims director at Colburn French (now JLT).

Peter Dobbs, chairman of Aon’s marine team, commented: "Aon has achieved considerable success in using electronic claims files and now Robert and Gordon are the ones to continue this drive in marine.  It means we can be more efficient in our processes so more time can be spent on complex claims face to face."
