LONDON, 10 September - Aon Consulting, a leading pension, benefits and HR consulting firm, has appointed Marco Arteaga as CEO of Aon Consulting in Germany (Aon Jauch & Hubener) to drive business growth and build on its existing strengths. The appointment takes effect from 1 April 2009.

Marco Arteaga will take over the chair of the executive board of Aon Jauch & Hübener Consulting GmbH from Axel Heitkamp. Prior to joining Aon, Arteaga was chairman of the management board of Mercer Deutschland GmbH.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Middleton, CEO of Aon Consulting EMEA, said:

"We wish to accelerate our growth in Europe as well as building on our existing strengths and experience. As part of our strategy we plan to further expand our business in Germany. Arteaga's many years of industry and management experience make him the right person to spearhead this growth. Former CEO Aon Consulting, Germany Axel Heitkamp, will continue to be responsible for the Consulting teams in Switzerland, Austria and Hungary and have a leading role in the continued expansion of Aon Consulting in Eastern Europe.
