CHICAGO (Oct. 21, 2013) – Aon Global Risk Consulting, the risk consulting business of Aon plc (NYSE:AON), today announced that it has been selected by Northwestern Mutual to provide security solutions as part of the company’s 1.1 million square-foot headquarters expansion in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual is a 155-year old mutual company serving the insurance and investment needs of more than three million people.

Aon’s security experts are partnering with Northwestern Mutual for the development of an open corporate campus. Aon, in support of this community friendly design, is providing:  security systems design/planning, guidance, training, analysis and product evaluation services. The resulting output of this balanced design will be pivotal in enhancing public interaction, meeting design goals and providing an open, inviting, yet controlled campus.

“By engaging security resources in the planning stages, Northwestern Mutual will be able to minimize the obtrusiveness of security,” said Sean Ahrens, global leader of Aon Global Risk Consulting’s security consulting services. “They will do this while maintaining a controlled environment through subtle changes in architecture, landscaping and technology. All of which would be more expensive and cumbersome to implement post-design.”

Northwestern Mutual reports that this expansion project is the largest office development project in Milwaukee in the past 40 years.
