Aon Names Alejandro Galizia as CEO for Latin America
- Accomplished leader has extensive industry experience in commercial and strategic business development roles
- Pablo Munoz named CEO of Reinsurance Solutions for Latin America

LONDON, Jan. 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Aon plc (NYSE:AON), a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, has appointed Alejandro Galizia as CEO for Commercial Risk, Health, Retirement and Data & Analytics for Latin America.

Galizia most recently served as Aon's CEO for Reinsurance Solutions in Latin America, a role he has held since 2014. He began his career underwriting and developing corporate clients in Argentina. In 1994 he joined Reinsur (Reinsurance Broker representative of Bain Hogg), which was acquired by Aon in 1998. He was appointed CEO of Aon Re Argentina in 2000, then served as Deputy Chairman of Aon Re Latin America, helping to develop insurance and reinsurance solutions for major corporate clients in the region.

"Alejandro is an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the regional marketplace and he will be well positioned to work with our leadership team to continue serving our clients with excellence and accelerate our growth agenda," said Eric Andersen, Aon's Co-President. "Appointing a leader with Alejandro's background and experience reinforces our core belief of the importance the region plays in our firm's continued success."

Globally, Aon has been investing significantly in regional and local capabilities.  Paired with the innovation and insight coming from the solution lines, the firm can now more impactfully deliver within the Latin America region.

"We have a diverse, experienced team whose knowledge of our local markets and clients is exceptional," stated Alejandro Galizia. "I am honored to be leading this team as we bring the best of Aon to our clients throughout Latin America."

Galizia assumes the CEO role following the retirement of Fernando Pereira on January 1, 2020. Pereira served as CEO for Latin America since 2012 and has been with Aon for over 20 years. "Fernando leaves a lasting and positive imprint on Aon. We will all benefit from his leadership and the strong teams he has built," said Andersen.

Pablo Munoz has been appointed CEO of Latin America for Aon's Reinsurance Solutions business. He assumes the Reinsurance leadership role previously held by Galizia.

Munoz joined Aon in 2008 and has held a number of leadership positions at the firm, playing an instrumental role in the success of the Reinsurance Solution's Latin American business. Most recently Pablo served as Strategic Growth Leader for the region whereby he was responsible for outlining the firm's growth strategy and determining necessary resources to achieve the firm's business objectives.

Munoz began his career in 2000 at Willis in Spain, where he held various positions within retail and reinsurance, and where he also served different client segments. He was transferred to London and then subsequently joined Benfield. He holds a bachelor's degree in Law (UCM Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and a master's degree in Insurance Management (ICEA-Madrid). Pablo is based in the firm's Miami, Florida office.
