New global head of Commercial Risk brings decades of industry knowledge, while newly created Advanced Risk Analytics role further integrates data modeling and accelerates market-making capabilities

DUBLIN, 14 August 2023 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, today announced a further step in the evolution of the firm’s Risk Capital capability, naming Joe Peiser as CEO of Commercial Risk Solutions and Paul Shedden as head of advanced risk analytics for Risk Capital, effective immediately and reporting to Andy Marcell, Aon’s CEO of Risk Capital.

As CEO of Commercial Risk, Peiser will be responsible for driving the growth of Aon’s Commercial Risk Solutions and collaborating with Reinsurance leaders across Risk Capital to develop innovative solutions that meet the emerging needs of clients. Peiser joined Aon in 2021 as head of Commercial Risk for North America. He has decades of industry experience across broking, consulting, underwriting and claims management. He succeeds Lambros Lambrou, who was named CEO of Human Capital, leading Aon’s Health, Wealth and Talent Solutions.

As head of advanced risk analytics, Shedden will further strengthen collaboration and innovation across the analytics and broking capabilities of both Commercial Risk Solutions and Reinsurance Solutions, harnessing Aon’s technical expertise among data scientists, catastrophe modelers and actuaries for the benefit of Aon’s clients. Shedden most recently served as head of global and UK analytics for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions and has nearly 20 years of experience in actuarial, pricing and analytics, and underwriting roles.

Both Peiser and Shedden will work closely with Aon’s Chief Operating Officer Mindy Simon and Aon Business Services (ABS) to accelerate the delivery of new client offerings that provide Aon’s clients with relevant and impactful data-driven insights.
