DUBLIN, Feb. 3, 2026 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, today announced Steve Schell has been named Aon’s global life sciences industry leader, effective February 16, 2026.
In this role, Schell will strengthen Aon’s life sciences strategy by sharpening sector insights, expanding capabilities and coordinating global resources to deliver greater value to clients. He will deepen relationships with Aon’s clients across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and life sciences services, by sharing data‑driven insights and capabilities that enable more informed decision making. Based in Chicago, he will report to Petra Schmidt, global industry leader.
“Life sciences organizations are experiencing a complex and highly regulated environment, shaped by rapid innovation, evolving global standards and growing expectations to bring new therapies and technologies to patients faster,” said Schmidt. “Steve brings deep industry expertise and will be instrumental in helping life sciences clients manage risk, drive innovation and build resilient, future‑ready organizations.”
Schell joined Aon in 2023 as a global enterprise client leader, bringing extensive experience in the life sciences industry. Prior to that, he spent 23 years at EY and held various regional and global roles.
“I’m thrilled step into this role at a time when the life sciences industry is experiencing rapid change,” said Schell. “Aon’s ability to bring together risk, people and data‑driven insights across the organization creates a powerful platform to help life sciences companies navigate uncertainty, support innovation and make smarter decisions that strengthen resilience and drive sustainable growth.”
