One big thing: Greg Case, CEO at Aon, spoke at a Business Roundtable Education and Workforce event at Harold Washington College in Chicago to discuss how Aon’s apprenticeship program has been a “win-win” solution to the current labor shortage, providing employment opportunities to diverse talent as well as helping employers build more resilient workforces.
- “This is from companies stepping back and saying we have a talent opportunity, we need to innovate and how do we do that,” said Case. “It really requires innovation, and a real conversation around how you do this. The outcome is fantastic...There’s opportunity to take this and scale it around the U.S... And it turns out, after our five years of experience in the U.S., our engagement with our apprentice colleagues is higher than ever before, the effectiveness with the job they do is exceptional, the retention is strong, so this is truly a win-win in all different aspects.”
Zoom out: Business Roundtable hosted the event alongside the launch of its Apprenticeship Accelerator initiative, which helps companies develop or scale their registered apprenticeship programs.
