Aon Convenes Local Employers to Build an Inclusive and Diverse Workforce in Northern California
May 28, 2021

Northern California, like so many areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, faces a challenging path toward economic recovery.

Part of that recovery must include building a strong and diverse workforce, asserts Michael Mahoney, Resident Managing Director, Northern California at Aon and Saleem Janmohamed, Senior Managing Director and U.S. West Market Unit Lead at Accenture, in their recently co-authored LinkedIn article.

Aon and Accenture are co-founders of the newly launched Northern California Apprentice Network. The network aims to initially create 1,000 apprenticeships in the Bay Area and Sacramento, with the mission to accelerate and scale the program to create many more career opportunities in the coming years. The launch of the Northern California Apprentice Network follows the launch of the Apprentice Network in the Greater Washington, D.C. area, and Aon’s 2020 commitment to invest $30 million and grow apprenticeships to 10,000 nationwide by 2030 by leading the development of a nationwide network of employers.

In the LinkedIn article, Mahoney and Janmohamed profile just a few of the incredible stories from current apprentices, which highlight just how vital diverse life experiences are in building the workforce of tomorrow. Aon is currently recruiting for apprentice roles in cities throughout the United States. To read more about Aon’s Apprenticeship Program or sign up for an information session, click here.
