What’s new: Aon served as the lead broker on the Klamath River restoration project in California and Oregon, which will remove four dams along the river, reinstating access for salmon to more than 300 miles and improving water quality.
- The Yurok Tribe relies on the Klamath River as an essential part of the ecosystem providing the tribe with salmon. Without changes to the dams, nearly 92 percent of basin tribal members faced food insecurity.
- The potential impact on Native Americans, the local community and fish habitats, as well as the risk of wildfires and risks related to dam removal, were all considered before the project began.
