Aon Risk Reward Challenge Enters Key Milestone on the PGA TOUR
May 06, 2021

The Aon Risk Reward Challenge is entering a key milestone on the PGA TOUR this week at the Wells Fargo Championship. Only 10 of 39 total events remain before the player who has navigated these strategically challenging holes earns the Aon trophy and $1 million prize.

Joaquin Niemann, of Chile, currently leads the season-long Aon Risk Reward Challenge. Niemann has totaled 28 birdies-or-better on Challenge holes already this season, going for the green 76 percent of the time. It’s a calculated strategy that has paid off handsomely.

“I have a new caddie this year with Gary Matthews and we work really well together,” said Niemann. “Obviously, things change day-to-day that may impact our strategy with pin placement, or wind, or just how my swing feels that day. Gary has helped a lot and having our process in place has been helpful to put me in the lead of the Aon Risk Reward Challenge.”

The Aon Risk Reward Challenge continues to highlight the players who are best prepared and who make the best decisions on these exciting holes throughout the season. To view the full update from the PGA TOUR, click here.
