One big thing: This week we celebrate 17th UK  National Apprenticeship Week — an annual celebration of apprenticeships in the UK, which brings together businesses and apprentices to recognize the impact these programs make on individuals, organizations and the economy.

  • The theme this year is “Skills for Life” which reflects on how apprenticeships help individuals develop skills that will support them throughout their careers.
  • Aon is encouraging colleagues to participate in events ranging from skills workshops, networking events and celebrations taking place both online and in person.
  • Follow @LifeAtAon to see how Aon is celebrating National Apprenticeship week.

Zoom out: Aon’s apprenticeship program began in the UK in September 2012, enabling high school graduates to join the UK Department for Education-approved apprenticeship program as an alternative to university. In 2020, the program was listed at number 52 in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2020 list published by the UK government.
