What’s news: Ilan Beck, chairman and CEO of Aon Israel, recently received the Lifetime Achievement award presented at the Adif Conference for his contributions to the insurance industry and the community.

Why it matters: Beck started out at his father’s insurance agency in Haifa and turned it into the largest independent international insurance brokerage in the country’s industry.  In addition, Beck is renowned for his work supporting and promoting sports in Israel and is involved with the Maccabi Haifa Basketball Club. According to Beck, “I always wanted to break the glass ceiling of the agency’s local business. And in October 2005 it happened. When I was approached by Aon, they were able to identify the potential that exists in Israel both as a unique geographical location in the region and as a start-up nation.”

According to Aon CEO Greg Case, “This recognition is so appropriate and is an incredible accomplishment. This award recognizes Beck’s indelible impact on the Israeli insurance industry over these past 35 years. Simply put, there is no one more fitting to receive this very special honor.”
