294 words…a minute and a half read

What’s happening: Today marks the conclusion of New York Climate Week 2023, during which business leaders, political change makers and civic leaders gathered to drive the climate transition, speed up progress and champion change that is already happening.

Dig deeper:

  • At the beginning of the week, Aon announced that the firm joined the International Emissions Trading Association as the first member with risk capital capabilities. Read more here.
  • During the week, Aon convened more than 200 clients and leaders across business, government and communities for a series of discussions at its New York office: Unlocking Capital with Physical Risk Analytics; Building a Deep, Vibrant and Reliable Carbon Market Ecosystem; Energy Transition is Inevitable, Channeling Risk Finance to Make it Growth Oriented and Sustainable; and From Supply Chain to Supply Shed: A New Model for Regenerative Agriculture.
  • Aon also co-hosted and participated in several additional events throughout the week, sharing insights and expertise.
    • At the Exploring the “S” in ESG – Understanding and Investing in Social Responsibility and Sustainability discussion, Lisa Stevens, chief people officer and CEO of Talent Solutions at Aon, said, “When we talk about resilience that’s reactive - the reality is our environment is uncertain. We have to figure out a way to create sustainability. It became pretty clear within our organization it was powerful, but not nearly as powerful as it could be.”
