“On Aon” Episode 11: Aon Affinity’s Christina Hopper Talks Pandemic Puppies, Consumer Trends and Protecting What Is Cherished
August 23, 2021

In a time of lockdowns, canceled plans, layoffs and remote work, consumer behavior shifted. While clothing sales fell by 79 percent in the U.S. in April 2020, online purchases of sweatpants increased by 80 percent. Pet adoptions and telemedicine rates skyrocketed. Consumer spending and priorities shifted, as did consumer insurance coverage.

Consumers focused on what was truly important to them and wanted to protect what they cherish, says Christina Hopper, President of the Consumer Solutions Group within Aon Affinity on the latest episode of “On Aon.” Time with family, the ability to provide for that family, welcoming a pet into the home, the ability to travel, to see family and friends… “Those are things that people always knew they valued, but I think during COVID-19 they cherished it.”

Hosting episode 11 is Sheena Singh, Senior Vice President for Aon’s National Healthcare Industry Vertical in Health Solutions. She and Christina discuss puppies, travel, TikTok, pandemic parenting, shifting to a remote work environment, weddings—and the coverage Aon offers consumers through Aon Affinity.

The “On Aon” podcast is available on Spotify, Stitcher, Simplecast and Apple Podcasts (iTunes).
