Promoting New Ideas at Aon with the Innovation Olympics
September 08, 2021

Aon recently held its own Olympics-style competition where colleagues created and showcased a diverse range of new and exciting projects that can enhance the way the firm does business.

"We need new solutions for new challenges," said Aon Chief Operating Officer James Platt, executive sponsor of the Innovation Olympics. "Innovation is key to helping us achieve 'the New Better.' In this rapidly changing world, enhanced technology and greater analytical capabilities are going to set us apart from the competition. I look forward to seeing everyone’s projects come to life and making a huge impact on our firm.”

More than than 300 innovative projects developed by more than 1,500 colleagues globally were submitted. Ideas ranged from using Artificial Intelligence to better manage client data to automating manual processes. In the end, the team “It is Rocket Science” took home the gold as the overall Innovation Olympics champions. The team developed a capability that combines data from any source, in any format, to allow a single view of any client.
