LONDON (31 October 2016) – Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon plc (NYSE:AON), has appointed Nick Frankland to CEO of its UK business. Nick will join the firm in April 2017 and will report to Eric Andersen, CEO of Aon Benfield.

Based in London, Nick will be responsible for driving UK growth strategies, building client relationships and strengthening collaboration across Aon to bring the best of the firm to insurance companies. He will have oversight of the following business units: Global ReSpecialty, Specialities, ReSolutions and UK & Ireland broking teams.

Nick was previously CEO of Guy Carpenter's EMEA operations, where he was responsible for the firm’s regional business and offices in the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was also chairman of Guy Carpenter & Company Ltd and a director of Marsh Ltd in the UK. Nick was also a member of Guy Carpenter's Board of Managers and International Operating Committee.

Prior to joining Guy Carpenter in 2004, he ran the London Market Property & Casualty Division of R.K. Carvill, where he had been a director for ten years. Nick began his career in 1980 at E.W. Payne before moving to Winchester Bowring in 1982, where he was appointed Managing Director in 1990. From there Nick moved to Ballantyne, McKean & Sullivan in 1992 and then on to Carvill in 1994. He was educated at Charterhouse and King’s College, University of London, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature.
