CHICAGO (January 9, 2017) – Aon today launched its groundbreaking apprenticeship program, giving 25, 18-22 year old talented high school graduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience in account management, client support, financial analysis, human resources, and information technology. The Aon program, created in partnership with City Colleges of Chicago, will allow students to earn their associates degree from Harold Washington College or Harper College during the two-year program.

 The apprentices will receive a competitive salary, full-time employee benefits, comprehensive on-the-job training, free college tuition as well as a dedicated mentor from One Million Degrees who will ensure each student is receiving the support and guidance they need both academically and professionally. Once the apprentices have finished the two-year program, they will be offered full-time employment at Aon.

 As a leader in the effort to bring apprenticeships to the insurance and financial services industry, Aon hopes to encourage Chicago’s business community to develop similar programs and help jumpstart the careers of many more deserving individuals throughout the city.
