Aon Names Andy Weitz Chief Marketing Officer
Responsibilities include integration of global marketing and communications organization to drive growth

LONDON, October 12, 2017 – Aon plc  (NYSE:AON), the leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, today announced the appointment of Andy Weitz to Chief Marketing Officer for Aon, which is effective immediately.

Weitz takes over for Phil Clement, who is moving into a new role as strategic advisor to the firm, focused on special projects related to corporate reputation.

“Phil architected the plan to build Aon into a global brand,” said Greg Case, President and Chief Executive Officer. “He established the foundation and capability that Andy will now build upon as we continue to strengthen our firm to support our clients. Over more than a decade in his role as CMO, Phil has been a brand and marketing visionary, pushing our firm to achievements that would not have been possible without his leadership.  All of Aon is very grateful for his contributions to our success and pleased that he will continue to play a strategic advisory role for our firm as he passes the baton to Andy.”

Weitz joined Aon in 2014 as the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications. In his time at Aon, Weitz and his team have helped drive a better understanding of the firm by developing innovative marketing and communication platforms that have helped Aon introduce a broader range of solutions to clients, increasing collaboration across the firm and creating new opportunities for growth.

Prior to joining Aon, Weitz was U.S. president and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, a leading global strategic communications consultancy that is a member of the WPP portfolio. While at Hill+Knowlton, Weitz also served as COO of the US region and as EVP of the global Corporate Advisory Practice.

Clement, Aon’s CMO since September of 2005, shared his interest with the firm in stepping down earlier this year for additional personal flexibility.

Clement said, “It has been extremely rewarding to be part of this amazing firm and dedicated executive team for over a decade. I believe Aon is in a great position – both from a broad positioning perspective as well as marketing perspective. Now seems like the best time to make this transition. I am sure Andy and the team will continue to drive Aon forward.”
