DUBLIN, July 20, 2026 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, today announced the appointment of Joe Liang as executive chairman of Greater China for Reinsurance, effective immediately.
Based in Hong Kong and reporting to Rupert Moore, CEO of Asia Pacific for Reinsurance, Liang brings more than 34 years of insurance industry experience to help advance Aon’s capabilities and deliver insights that support better business decisions for clients. Drawing on senior leadership roles in China and the U.S., Liang will help strengthen the firm’s offerings, enable innovation and drive growth across Greater China.

His appointment reflects Aon's continued commitment to supporting insurers and reinsurers across Greater China with the global perspective and local market understanding needed to navigate a rapidly evolving landscape. Under Liang's leadership, the team will continue helping clients identify opportunities, address emerging risks and strengthen business performance.
Prior to joining Aon, Liang held senior leadership positions across underwriting, reinsurance, risk management and actuarial functions in China and the U.S., including executive roles at SAIC Insurance Limited and Ping An P&C Insurance Company. He is a fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society and a fellow of Chinese Actuarial Society.
