The reinsurance power brokers were recognized for their service and advocacy on behalf of their clients. The magazine selected individuals based largely on feedback from insurers and reinsurers.
"Each and every day, our focus is on providing the best for our clients and markets," said Michael D. O'Halleran, chairman and CEO of Aon Re Global. "The expertise of our people, across a broad range of categories, is the reason we are able to deliver long term value to our clients in their terms. We congratulate our winners and thank our clients and reinsurers for this wonderful recognition."
Aon Re Global's Marine team was described as "in a class by itself" and its Casualty and Retro teams were cited as being important players. Individuals recognized from Aon Re Global, the world's leading provider of reinsurance brokerage and integrated capital solutions and services, were:
Property

the property practice

Marine

Professional Liability

This is the first time Risk and Insurance magazine has recognized Power Brokers in reinsurance. Because of the increasingly analytical nature of the business, applying reinsurers typically mentioned a team of brokers from a particular firm. So, in contrast to the commercial insurance Power Broker listings, the reinsurance Power Brokers also highlighted the strengths of the brokerage firms in those categories. Risk and Insurance interviewed 37 reinsurance companies and 18 of the largest cedents over a 3 month period to determine the 2007 result.
The publication evaluated six areas: property reinsurance, casualty reinsurance, professional liability reinsurance, retrocession reinsurance, facultative reinsurance and marine reinsurance. Risk and Insurance interviewed both cedents and reinsurers and asked them to identify individual brokers who they thought were the best.
"Each and every day, our focus is on providing the best for our clients and markets," said Michael D. O'Halleran, chairman and CEO of Aon Re Global. "The expertise of our people, across a broad range of categories, is the reason we are able to deliver long term value to our clients, in their terms. We congratulate our winners and thank our clients and reinsurers for this wonderful recognition."
