Aon’s U.S. Apprenticeship Program Welcomes Future Leaders
September 01, 2021

Recently, Aon welcomed more than 100 new apprentices across the United States as part of the 2021 cohort, the largest Apprentice class to date. The two-year program, launched in the United States in 2017, provides participants with the opportunity to earn a competitive salary and full benefits while they complete an associate degree. Aon also covers all tuition, books and fees.

In our offices from San Francisco to Philadelphia and five locations in-between, these future leaders are embarking on a meaningful professional and educational opportunity thanks to a $30 million investment the firm made in November 2020 to lead the development of a nationwide network of employers to create 10,000 apprenticeships nationwide by 2030.

Through these networks connecting local governments, non-profit partners and community colleges, employers share the benefits and best practices of Apprenticeship programs to encourage local companies to start their own program. These apprentice networks were built upon the success of the first network in Chicago and are now established in Greater Washington, D.C., Northern California, Minnesota, Philadelphia and Houston. A launch event in New York City will also be planned.

"To make a difference in the world, we need the best talent in the world. We need the power of inclusion," CEO Greg Case said as he addressed the apprentices on their second day. "We need your guidance, leadership and insight. We look forward to how you will help us succeed."

The program continues to help the firm build a talent pipeline of highly skilled and diverse professionals while building a more resilient workforce. Aligning with the recruitment and education pillars of the Global Inclusive Leadership Council, the program is one way we are working to create a more inclusive and diverse culture at Aon.
