332 words…a minute and a half read

One big thing: Today is World Mental Health Day, when everyone can help to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. Aon is committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of colleagues as well as helping clients build more resilient workforces by addressing the mental health of their employees.

Dig deeper:

  • Aon is a member of the Founding Corporate Council for One Mind at Work, which offers the Mental Health at Work Index, a comprehensive, standardized assessment of organizational programs and practices that support workforce mental health.
  • This year, Aon released its 2022-2023 Global Wellbeing Survey, which found that improving employee wellbeing can enhance company performance by at least 11 percent and as much as 55 percent. Learn more about the survey’s findings in PlanSponsor.
  • In 2022, Aon created the position of Chief Wellbeing Officer to drive wellbeing and workforce resilience strategies for clients and focus on the wellbeing of Aon colleagues. Learn more about Rachel Fellowes, Aon’s chief wellbeing officer, and her role in HR Executive.
  • Aon’s inaugural 2022 Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Survey evaluated organizations’ DE&I practices when it comes to benefits, work environment and culture. The survey found that 74 percent of companies have an internal DE&I definition and policy. Highly engaged companies, defined as having 70 percent or more highly engaged employees, have a definition of DE&I 82 percent of the time. This compares with companies with low engagement – those with less than 40 percent highly engaged employees — who have a DE&I definition 65 percent of the time. Read more in Aon’s press release and explore insights covered in UNLEASH about the impact for older workers.
  • Check out the award-winning “On Aon” podcast’s Better Being series, which focuses on the actions we can all take to build and support resilience in the workplace. Episode 59 discusses ways managers can support grieving team members, the power of leaning into collective grief and resources to help anyone experiencing or supporting others through the grieving process.
