Supporting Underserved Communities Through Aon’s “United in Social Impact Weeks”
February 13, 2024

208 words…about a minute read

Aon colleagues participated in two global United in Social Impact weeks in 2023 – organized by Aon’s Law and Compliance department.  Those taking part volunteered to support underserved communities through pro bono work and community service. Previously known as Celebrate: Pro Bono and Corporate Social Responsibility, the event had over 780 participants in 38 events, clocking in over 1,100 hours of community service.

  • Since 2020, colleagues have come together for this event to offer their time and talents to underserved communities. This year, the event was spread over two separate weeks, with the first week taking place in May and the second in October.
  • These events supported underserved communities which included asylum-seekers, refugees, students, elderly, disabled, LGBTQIA+ and the wrongfully convicted.
  • Darren Zeidel, EVP, general counsel and company secretary, said, “United in Social Impact is reaching more colleagues and making more of an impact than ever before. Our annual program is expanding into new geographies and offering more opportunities to make a difference within our communities - there is something for everyone.”

Zoom out: Aon’s Global Pro Bono program offers opportunities throughout the year for Aon colleagues to volunteer in support of organizations and causes that are important to them and their communities.
