Aon Named to Fortune’s Change the World List
October 12, 2021

We’re pleased to share that Aon was included in Fortune’s 2021 Change the World List, which recognizes companies that have had a positive social impact through activities that are part of their core business strategy.

Aon was ranked #32 alongside 53 other companies. While many of our global initiatives drive positive social impact, this award particularly recognizes Aon’s U.S. Apprenticeship Program.

For the Change the World List, Fortune writers and editors evaluate companies based on four factors: measurable social impact, the benefit the work has on the company financially, innovation and influence and how integral the work is to the company’s overall strategy.

Aon’s Apprenticeship Program is a holistic two-year, full-time job and educational program that provides opportunities for those without a traditional four-year college degree an entry point to a professional career at Aon. Aon provides apprentices with a salary, benefits, tuition and books as they pursue their associate’s degree at a partner community college. Meanwhile, we at Aon are able to bring on exceptional colleagues (meet some of them here), sourced from a large and diverse talent pool, that help us shape better decisions for our clients.

Launched in the U.S. in 2017 in Chicago, we committed $30 million to expand Aon’s program, and promote the value of apprenticeships in new geographies. In 2021, Aon launched programs in Houston, New York, Northern California, Minnesota, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

The program is an innovative way to attract and retain diverse talent, prepare future leaders and contribute to building a more future-focused, resilient workforce.
